Our City Marketing Brand
Introduction...
Wolverhampton is a place of positivity and progress. Like all cities, we have faced many challenges, but together we have made huge strides to bring about change. Our strength and our future lies in our biggest and smallest communities, our businesses, our corporations and our associations. There is great pride and potential in our people. Channelling this into one unified voice:
Together we are The City of Wolverhampton.
Out of the darkness, cometh light.
From industry to technology, we have a strong heritage of inventing, making and doing. We have tapped into this idea of innovation and engineering to develop a new city visual identity.
The brand has been developed in partnership with the City’s Economic Growth Board which is made up of representatives from the business community and stakeholders who support the growth of the city’s economy.
What is its purpose...
It will be a key asset in supporting economic growth and inward investment including:
- a vibrant visitor and cultural events programme to increase city centre footfall
- city-wide, regional, national and international profile
- increasing levels of pride in the city #Proud2BeWolves
- city marketing and inward investment campaigns alongside the city Invest brand

Announced to widespread acclaim during Business Week 2017, the new city branding was officially launched during the city’s 2018 visitor programme which saw a record 25,000 people attend the showpiece Festival of Food and Drink and over 61,000 visitors in total to over 50 city events.
The brand is designed to be used by all city partners from the private, public and voluntary sector, who have a stake in the city’s success. The Economic Growth Board is actively encouraging all partners to integrate this new approach into their own marketing and promotional strategies.
