Phase one of new railway station open

Wolverhampton has waited a long time to get its new railway station - and we're delighted that Phase 1 of the scheme is now open.

The Government has asked people to travel by walking, cycling or car during the coronavirus outbreak and only to use trains and other public transport if essential.

For people where train travel is essential, a one-way system has been marked out at the station to help people keep to the social distancing measures. Customers that do need to travel are encouraged to buy their tickets online in advance if possible.

Phase 2 of the scheme will see the demolition of the remainder of the old station building and completion of the new build to house three more retail units, as well as a customer waiting room and help point.
